Have you or your organization worked with volunteers who are neurodivergent? Join NVAVA members for a discussion of best practices in managing neurodivergent volunteers—how to support your team and set your organization up for success—led by Donna Patchett, ADA specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University. Donna is also on the board of directors for Volunteer Fairfax and has been on VF’s task force on disability inclusion in volunteering.
We will discuss topics like how best to support volunteers on the spectrum or with other special needs, how to coach staff who may be working directly with volunteers, and where to find resources to continue to deepen your knowledge. Bring your questions and we’ll get through as many as we can!
Guests and others outside of NVAVA are welcome to participate! Please note this meeting will be at an earlier than usual time—we will start at 9:30 a.m. and will be done no later than 11:00 a.m.
