Starting the year by dedicating time to contemplate and set goals and intentions creates a solid foundation for a successful year. Getting all of your ideas, thoughts, aspirations out of your head and onto paper (or screen) where you can see them, will keep you motivated even when things start to get overwhelming. In this interactive workshop you will participate in activities to help you discover what you want your year to look like and what you need to put in place to achieve that vision.

You will leave this workshop with:

  • Clearly defined intention(s) for the year
  • A draft of a intention based and specific/measurable goals
  • Resources to use to put together a visible vision board.

Presenter: Navara Cannon

Navara Cannon is the Community & Volunteer Engagement Manager for Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS). Based at the SERVE program of NVFS, her primary duties include recruiting, training and onboarding volunteers as well as establishing meaningful relationships with community partners (including, corporate, civic, and religious groups) to help move the mission of NVFS forward. Navara feels extremely fortunate to have an opportunity work in support of a program that helps so many families in need as she has lived very similar experiences as the clients they serve. She has been recognized by George Mason University as an “Outstanding Community Partner” and has managed thousands of volunteers in her 9+ years at NVFS.

Navara holds a B.A. in Mass Communications and an MBA with a concentration in Marketing. She has been leading volunteer efforts since her days in undergraduate school as she was a Girl Scout leader and then as Miss Senior was responsible for coordinating volunteer events so that seniors were able to complete the required amount of community service hours to graduate. I guess you could say she was always meant to be in volunteer management even before she realized it!

The link for this event will be provided to all participants prior to the video call. Stay tuned!
