Are you looking for ways to engage additional volunteers with your mission? In addition to traditional volunteers, there are volunteers that may take additional work to manage but can provide some much-needed assistance. Many nonprofits are resistant to working with volunteers needing community service hours for court, volunteers with disabilities, youth volunteers, or corporate volunteers because of the additional paperwork or supervision needed to manage these volunteers.

NVAVA’s July workshop will feature a panel of local Northern Virginia volunteer managers that handle special needs volunteers on a regular basis. Following the panel, we will break down into small groups to discuss individual needs. Small group topics will include court-ordered community service, youth volunteers, corporate volunteers, and volunteers with disabilities. Please bring questions, best practices and more to discuss with your fellow volunteer managers!

Networking starts at 9:30 am and the workshop will start at 10 am! Please note that this training falls on July 25th, instead of our regular date to accommodate for the GRAVA conference.
