NVAVA September Training: Introducing the Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub with Alexander Vanik (15 Sep 2026)

Join NVAVA on September 15 from 10:00–11:00 a.m. for our September training featuring Alex Vanik from Serve Virginia.

Alex will introduce the Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub, an online, statewide platform designed to connect Virginians with meaningful volunteer and service opportunities in communities across the Commonwealth.

During this training, we’ll explore how the Volunteer Hub can complement the work of organizations and volunteer centers throughout Virginia—including the important role NVAVA members play in connecting volunteers with opportunities in their communities.

You’ll learn:

How organizations can register and list volunteer opportunities directly on the Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub.

How opportunities from organizations already connected with a local volunteer center can seamlessly integrate with the statewide platform for greater visibility.

How the Hub can help expand access to volunteer opportunities, particularly in communities without a local volunteer center.

About changes to the work requirements for SNAP and Medicaid eligibility and how volunteer organizations can support individuals who may need volunteer opportunities to help maintain their benefits.

Ways NVAVA members and their organizations can make the most of this new statewide resource.

This will be a great opportunity to learn more about an emerging resource for Virginia’s volunteer engagement network and consider how we can work together to strengthen connections between volunteers, organizations, and communities across the Commonwealth.

Date: September 15
Time: 10:00–11:00 a.m. EST
Location: Zoom
Presenter: Alex Vanik, Serve Virginia

Zoom information: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89137734913

We hope you’ll join us!
